2021 has dramatically impacted the way we live, work, and shop. In Australia in particular, where the extended lockdowns will have a long-lasting impact on customer behavior, the quality of online experiences we provide has never been more crucial, accentuating the New Normal of ‘do more with less for the testing community. In this talk, I will review technology and processes available that organizations can leverage now to overcome their current limited capabilities, as the building industry did by leveraging the elevator in the 1850s to evolve and create the skyscrapers we now see everywhere.

According to shift-left testing paradigm, quality should be thought about at early stages of development cycle. The question is about what the various steps are to take at each stage of software development for an efficient product quality. Never ending testing at all phases not only incur extra cost but also would delay delivery. Machine learning (ML) for natural language processing (NLP) and text analytics involves using machine learning algorithms and “narrow” artificial intelligence (AI) to understand the meaning of text documents. These documents can be just about anything that contains text: social media comments, online reviews, survey responses, even financial, medical, legal and regulatory documents. In essence, the role of machine learning and AI in natural language processing and text analytics is to improve, accelerate and automate the underlying text analytics functions and NLP features that turn this unstructured text into usable data and insights.

Medical Device Software system must meet the regulatory requirements and be beneficial to the real world. To this end, the authorities like FDA, TGA require your system to be validated. The verification and validation (V&V) has become a critical part of the software development process for a medical device.

As a best practice, the V&V should be considered early in the design stage when developing requirement specifications for a product. Such an approach will help streamline the overall manufacturing and approval process.
